DESCRIPTION

An ebonised oak wall-hung bookcase in the Reformed Gothic taste, attributed to the Victorian architect George Edmund Street (1824–1881) and dating from around 1880. The bookcase is decorated with gilt highlights and has a later red silk-lined back, providing an attractive backdrop for books or decorative objects.
