Kingsdown Antiques has dated this Cut Glass Biscuit Barrel to the 1860s.
The lid is finished with a decorative finial knop, adding a traditional, period-inspired touch.

The container rests in a silver plated stand with a beaded rim and supporting rails that cradle the glass securely. The underside is stamped Elkington & Co, for the respected Birmingham maker known for high quality plated wares – marked with the date letter ‘G’ for 1869.

It is a timeless host’s piece that still feels relevant for modern entertaining.
