A beautiful hand carved oak stool in the manner of Charles II period but made by hand in the late 19th Century.
Newly upholstered in a good quality William Morris design fabric with stylised red roses and green foliage on a cream background.
Comfortable and very well padded and with a heavy and robust oak frame.
The legs with beautiful turned and blocked legs, the feet carved with scrolls, and united by turned stretchers at both short sides and beautiful arched and fern carved stretchers to both long sides with channel reeding to the feet.
A really striking hand-made stool - which would pass as made in the 1680s very easily - with pegged joints and with a lovely colour.
No worm or repairs or significant dings or scuffs.
A charming and usable 19th century foot stool.
