Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian Neoclassical table lamp brings a touch of grand Regency style to interior settings. Cast in brass with a warm gold colour, the piece takes the form of a classical Corinthian column. A detailed cast capital surmounts the grooved, fluted column shaft, which rises from a square pedestal and stepped footed base. The warm gold metal displays a noticeable patina across its surfaces, showing age through its soft glow. Standing approximately 60 cm high, the lamp serves as a striking decorative lighting option for a sideboard top or large side table in a living room, hallway, or study. The classic architectural proportions and traditional motifs integrate smoothly into formal traditional schemes as well as refined transitional interiors. Placed upon a dark marble surface, the antique brass highlights create a subtle contrast of tone and texture within the room. Connection to power runs via an exposed flex cord trailing from the fixture base.

FAQs

A Corinthian column lamp is a classical Neoclassical lighting design inspired by ancient architectural pillars, featuring a fluted shaft, stepped pedestal base, and detailed acanthus-leaf capital.

Traditional column lamps are typically constructed from cast or spun brass, bronze, or brass-plated metal, frequently weighted with cast iron within the pedestal for structural stability.

Authentic period pieces generally feature heavy cast components, threaded internal iron rods, fine hand-chased capital details, and natural oxidisation rather than lightweight modern alloy construction.

Position the lamp on a console table, desk, or sideboard alongside marble or dark wood surfaces to balance contemporary aesthetics with classical architectural forms.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical abrasives; gentle metal polish may be applied if a bright finish is required, though maintaining the aged patina is standard practice.
