The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The jug is in excellent condition for its age.
The base is star-cut to the edge as was the style in the early 19th century.

The jug has a baluster-shaped bowl measuring 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) by 9.2 cm (3.7 inches) in diameter at the dentated pouring rim. The bowl is heavily cut with prism cuts above a wide band of hobnail diamonds and some basal prism cutting. The jug is 17 cm (6.8 inches) across at its widest point (including the handle) and is 17.5 cm (7 inches) in height. The bowl sits on a thick, short capstan stem and a disk foot which measures 10.3 cm (4.1 inches) in diameter. The handle was first applied to the top of the bowl and then finished off at the bottom of the bowl. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
A heavy period jug weighing in at 1.26 kg. (~ 2 lb. 12 oz.).
