A studded tan leather book trough of good proportions, c.1880. From Ballymacarron House, Country Down, Northern Ireland. Likely ''estate made''.
The trough is fully covered in a tan leather with stud detailing to all edges, and a cross pattern to the front and side panels. There is wear commensurate with age throughout but overall the trough is in a good country house condition and displays well.
