This Scottish Victorian brooch from circa 1860 takes the form of a six-petalled flower made from silver. The circular mount displays intricate scroll engraving and incorporates multiple inlaid coloured stones including Montrose agates, moss agates, carnelians, and bloodstones in shades of red, green, and yellow. At the centre sits a faceted yellow citrine stone, framed by a six-pointed star motif composed of alternating jasper and carnelian triangles. A steel pin and C clasp are attached to the reverse. The piece measures 2 cm high, 5.5 cm wide, and 5.5 cm deep. Items of this kind suit contemporary wear as a distinctive accent piece pinned to lapels, scarves, or hats. The traditional Scottish design aesthetic fits well within a Highland hunting lodge style or similar interior themes, though it functions primarily as an item of personal adornment rather than a household fixture. Its versatile size allows for straightforward integration into daily wardrobes.

Scottish pebble jewellery refers to items crafted during the 19th century that incorporate indigenous Scottish agates, jaspers, and quartz set into engraved silver or gold mountings. The style gained popularity during Queen Victorias reign following her frequent visits to the Scottish Highlands.

These pieces were typically constructed using silver engraved with foliate patterns, set with polished native stones including bloodstone, jasper, banded agate, and central cairngorm quartz or citrine.

Authentic pieces feature precisely hand-cut stone sections fitted flush into the silver mount, hand-engraved scrollwork, tubed hinges, long pinstems extending past the edge, and simple C-clasps.

A Victorian brooch can be worn on the lapel of a tailored blazer, attached to a wool coat, used to fasten a scarf, or fitted onto a velvet ribbon as a choker.

Store the item in a dry, soft-lined container away from direct sunlight. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to clean, avoiding liquid cleaners or submersions that could loosen mounted stones or damage the silver finish.
