Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A sugarloaf decanter is an 18th-century glass vessel featuring a wide base that tapers upwards to a narrow neck, named after the conical shape in which refined sugar was sold during the period.

Decanters from this era were hand-blown using lead crystal or flint glass, which provided clarity and weight, often finished with hand-ground stoppers and wheel-engraved copper-wheel decoration.

Authentic period pieces often feature a snapped or polished pontil mark on the base, natural wear rings on the underside, slight colour variations in the glass, and hand-cut stoppers numbered to match the bottle.

Displaying antique glassware on a modern sideboard, bar cart, or tray allows light to pass through the glass, highlighting the detailed wheel engraving against contrasting dark or neutral backdrops.

Wash by hand using tepid water and mild detergent, avoiding dishwashers and thermal shock; ensure the interior is completely dry before inserting the stopper to prevent moisture trapping.
