Arts and Crafts Rare James Macintyre Barrel Circa 1900

1900 - 1920
Description

Arts and crafts james macintyre (pre moorcroft) covered barrel in the gesso faience design 1894-1928. This was developed by harry barnard who left doultons for macintyre before moving on to wedgewoods in 1897. The barrel is profusely decorated and has blue tube lined flowers very much in the style of the later florianware. It has a silver plated lid and handle and stands 25cms tall to the top of the handle.
