Elegant Edwardian Amethyst and Seed Pearl Lavalier Necklace in 9ct Gold

This beautiful Edwardian necklace dates to around 1900 and is a wonderful example of the delicate and feminine jewellery designs of the period.

The pendant is finely hand crafted in 9ct gold and displays an elegant lavalier design with graceful foliate openwork detail. At its centre sits a lovely oval amethyst of rich purple-mauve colour, framed by a halo of luminous seed pearls.

Surrounding the central stone are further flowing gold scrolls set with delicate pearls, creating a refined botanical design so typical of Edwardian jewellery.

Above the pendant a round amethyst gathers the split chain, while below a beautifully cut pear shaped amethyst drop completes the design, giving the piece lovely movement and sparkle when worn.

Light, graceful and extremely wearable, this charming antique necklace sits beautifully at the neckline and remains in excellent condition.

A wonderful example of Edwardian craftsmanship and a very romantic antique jewel.
