Description
A rare 18th century cut glass sugar caster dating to c1780.
It has a cut facet domed top, with holes for the sugar, above a facet cut collar. The neck has been flute cut with notch cutting to the edges. The main body has hexagonal facet cutting leading down to a base which has a screw fitting for the conical foot.
Lead glass, a fine piece, and even rarer to have the screw fitting to the foot.

England, c1780. Period of George III.
Condition
Overall, its excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration to the main body. The screw fitting works perfectly but there are chips around the top rims of the screw fitting which are well hidden when fitted. Clean and clear internally.
