The piece features striking lion rampant at each end, beautifully modelled and rich in detail, which connect seamlessly to a finely executed pierced brass gallery. Designed for practicality as well as style, the lion terminals adjust outward from the closed position, allowing the fender to expand to suit the fireplace opening. The rear bears the stamped marks “MG” and “879”, adding further authenticity and interest.
