Charming 17th-Century Charles II Jacobean Geometric Chest of Drawers with Superb Patina
A wonderfully characterful late 17th-century Charles II Jacobean oak geometric chest of drawers, boasting exceptional colour, depth and patina.
This finely crafted piece features a rectangular planked top with moulded edge, above three long graduated, oak lined drawers, all enriched with crisp geometric moulding, flanked by bobbin mouldings. The drawers retain their original brass drop handles, escutcheons and locks, adding both visual interest and great authenticity. Raised on its original square stile feet, with original planked back and panelled sides, this chest offers a completely honest, untouched feel that is increasingly hard to find. The rich, warm colour and beautifully matured surface bear the hallmark of over three centuries of careful use and polishing.
Made in England circa 1680, this is a highly decorative and practical piece of early oak furniture that would sit equally we
...ll in a period room or as a striking contrast in a more contemporary interior, a true collector’s item with real presence and charm.
