Description

This classic Georgian silver muffineer or pedestal sugar caster is dated London 1796 and bears the marks of the renowned Stephen Adams. The baluster body with a detachable pierced cover. The cover with acorn finial. Raised on a square pedestal base. One side engraved with initials A.H, most probably engraved in Georgian times.

Hallmarks:

Fully marked on the body and on the inner lid.

S.A for Stephen Adams.

London Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Duty Mark.

Date letter "A" for 1796.

Dimensions:

Height: 14.5cm / 5.5 inches.

Base: 4.5 x 4.5cm / 1.6 x 1.6 inches.

Weight: 85 g / 3 oz.

Condition:

Very good.

Stable on its base.
