This is a British, Georgian, low tazza with a folded pedestal foot dating from the early 18th century, c1735. Keith Kelsall shows a number of examples in his book ''The Footed Salver''.
The tazza is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the bowl and the rim of the foot consistent with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark at the apex of the foot.
The tazza measures 27.5 cm (11 inches) in diameter at the turned over rim. The tazza is plain and sits on a folded pedestal foot that measures 11.8 cm (4.7 inches) in diameter. The tazza is only 3.8 cm (1.7 inches) in height. There is some light scratching and marking to the upper surface and a few minute inclusions and small unburst bubbles all dating from manufacture. There are no chips, cracks, or any obvious evidence of restoration.
Lead glass weighing in at 725 g. (~ 1 lb. 10 oz.).
