Georgian caddy spoons were specialised small scoops created during the 18th and early 19th centuries to measure loose tea leaves from a caddy into a teapot, becoming miniature canvases for silversmiths.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, often featuring hand-beaten bowls, engraved details, and sometimes bone or ivory handles.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining hallmarks stamped on the metal, which include the makers mark, standard mark, town mark, and duty mark, alongside period-appropriate manufacturing techniques.

Such small collectibles are often displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, shadow boxes, or on specialist stands as part of a curated tabletop collection.

Preservation requires storing items in tarnish-resistant cloths, avoiding harsh abrasive polishes, and cleaning only with specialised silver dips or microfibre cloths when strictly necessary.
