Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chippendale Revival furniture incorporates 18th-century design hallmarks established by Thomas Chippendale, including serpentine fronts, acanthus carvings, blind fretwork, and bracket feet. Manufactured in the early 20th century by high-end makers, these pieces emulate Georgian proportions using updated precision cabinet-making techniques.

These tallboys typically feature solid mahogany framework with book-matched flame mahogany veneers applied to door panels and drawer fronts. Hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine drawer linings, and cast brass swan-neck handles are standard structural markers.

Authentic Waring & Gillow pieces frequently feature a stamped makers name on drawer edges, back panels, or brass lock plates. Identification is further confirmed by heavy, solid drawer construction, high-grade mahogany timber, and meticulously fitted cabinet doors.

Position the tallboy against a neutral or rich wall backdrop in a bedroom, dressing room, or spacious hallway to serve as a vertical anchor. Pair with contemporary understated lighting or modern framed art to contrast the traditional timber work.

Apply a natural beeswax polish twice yearly along the direction of the grain to nourish the timber and prevent drying out. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and central heating sources, and clean brass fittings with a soft dry cloth without abrasive cleaners.
