Edwardian silver mounted glassware refers to drinking vessels and containers produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), characterised by a refined elegance that drew inspiration from earlier Georgian and Victorian styles while embracing lighter, more delicate craftsmanship.

These items typically combine hand-blown or cut glass inserts with pierced, embossed, or cast sterling silver mounts, often created using traditional silversmithing techniques such as repousse and chasing.

Authentic pieces can be identified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the silver components, which indicate the assay office, date letter, and silversmiths mark, alongside period-appropriate glass thickness and hand-finished details.

These pieces can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on bar carts, or utilised as refined decorative accents on surface tops to add historic texture and metallic contrast to contemporary spaces.

To preserve these items, wash the glass components gently by hand with mild soap, avoid submerging combined pieces for prolonged periods, and clean the silver using a soft cloth and a specialised, non-abrasive silver polish.
