An exceptional German Antique Art Nouveau Glass Wine Dispenser dating to c1900.

it has a colourful wrought iron frame and stand depicting a fruiting grape vine.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau barware, produced predominantly between 1890 and 1910, is defined by organic forms inspired by nature. Items frequently incorporate sinuous lines, botanical motifs such as grapevines and tendrils, and a combination of sculpted metalwork with hand-blown or etched glass.

These pieces typically combine hand-wrought iron or brass stands with glass reservoirs. The metalwork was often painted, patinated, or enamelled to represent natural foliage, while the glass elements were acid-etched, wheel-engraved, or hand-blown with brass tap fittings.

Authentic pieces show evidence of hand craftsmanship, including irregular joinery in wrought iron, natural oxidation or wear on painted surfaces, and period-correct brass dispensing spigots. Glass components often feature hand-engraved inscriptions, slight asymmetry, or minor bubbles characteristic of historical manufacturing methods.

Position the piece on a dining room sideboard, home bar cabinet, or drink cart to accentuate its sculptural silhouette. Pair it with contemporary glassware or neutral background surfaces to highlight the dark metalwork and detailed foliage.

Dust metal stands gently with a soft, dry brush to preserve original paint and patina, avoiding water or chemical cleaners that cause rust. Clean glass reservoirs using warm water and mild soap, ensuring liquid does not submerge or saturate adjacent metal components.
