Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often featured a blend of traditional craftsmanship influenced by Edwardian elegance, gradually incorporating cleaner lines and neoclassical motifs as the period progressed.

These frames were typically crafted from sterling silver sheets shaped over wooden cores or backed with supportive materials like wood or cardboard, often featuring velvet or moire silk linings on the reverse and easel backs.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped on the silver, which include the makers mark, the standard mark indicating sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and the specific date letter for the year of assay.

An antique silver frame adds a layer of curated history when placed on a contemporary bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece, contrasting nicely against minimalist surfaces or serving as a focal point amongst modern decor.

Preservation involves regular dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth and occasional careful polishing with a specialized silver cloth to maintain the shine without damaging the underlying metal or wearing down hallmark stamps.
