The decoration to the surface incorporates a central contemporary engraved presentation inscription ''Presented to Capt H.A. Thompson 50th Reg M.N.P. By Colonel Green and his Brother Officers, in acknowledgement of his unremitted EXERTOONS as Mess Secretary for a period of nearly six years during the whole of which times his Conciliatory and Obliging demeanours have so essentially contributed to the HARMONY and well being of the Regimental Mess, December 1842''.

This boxed Indian silver salver embodies fine craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage, making it an exceptional gift for weddings, anniversaries, retirements or corporate presentations. At home, it lends refinement and a sense of tradition when displayed on a sideboard, dining table or within a cabinet.
