A striking and exceptionally large Japanese Arita porcelain vase, rich cobalt blue on a white ground. The baluster form features intricate floral and foliate designs, with detailed scenes of exotic birds amidst blossoming trees, exemplifying the fine craftsmanship for which Arita ware is renowned.

Dating to the 20th century, this impressive piece displays excellent colour and detail, with only a slight crack to the top rim, commensurate with age.
