A rummer is a heavy-stemmed drinking glass popular in 18th and 19th-century Britain, traditionally used for serving rum, ale, punch, and wine in public houses and homes.

Authentic period rummers were typically hand-blown using lead glass or flint glass, often featuring thick bases and sturdy stems to withstand the rigours of tavern use.

Authenticity is indicated by heavy metal weight, pontil marks on the underside of the foot, tiny trapped air bubbles within the glass, and natural wear consistent with age.

Antique rummers can be displayed on open shelving, within glass-fronted cabinets, or repurposed as small floral vases to add historic character to contemporary spaces.

Wash antique glass gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent; avoid soaking, sudden temperature changes, and dishwasher use to prevent clouding or structural damage.
