Antique Victorian Walnut Side CupboardA pretty yet functional piece.Here we have this outstanding example of a rare Victorian solid Walnut bedside cupboard in almost pristine original condition. This fine cabinet is a distinguished piece crafted by M. Woodburn of Liverpool, as indicated by its stamp to the doors edge and its listing in the 1877 Furniture Gazette Directory, which allows us to pinpoint its creation to C1880. This cabinet incorporates early influences of the Aesthetic Movement as suggested by its reeded and panelled door with the top panel being embellished by a fine carving of an Acanthus leaf motif.This functional piece would have served as a versatile bedside or side table with a solid Walnut top which is embellished with a reeded edge all around and finished with a simple rear up-stand.The cupboard door also features is lovely original polished brass dropper handle along with its original Bales Patent brass ball latch which easily latches the door clos...
