Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Neoclassical sculpture draws inspiration from classical antiquity, specifically ancient Greek and Roman artistic traditions. Figures from this period feature classical drapery, realistic human proportions, and idealised facial features, often depicting mythological deities or symbolic allegories.

Sculptures from this era were typically executed in carved marble, cast bronze, terracotta, composition stone, or cast plaster. Cast composition materials allowed detailed classical designs to be produced for both interior reception rooms and exterior garden settings.

Authentic period statues exhibit natural surface patina, subtle hand-finishing details, and age-consistent wear around high-touch areas such as drapery folds or bases. Cast pieces may display historical seam lines and structural weighting characteristic of early manufacturing processes.

A tall full-length figure mounted on a pedestal functions effectively as a focal point in a central foyer, a stairwell landing, or an architectural alcove. Placing the piece against a contrasting minimalist backdrop highlights the sculptural silhouette and classical drapery.

Dusting should be performed regularly using a soft, dry brush to clean surface crevices without scratching the finish. Avoid applying water or liquid chemical cleaners directly to porous stone or plaster surfaces to prevent staining and material degradation.
