Description

This is a very pretty pair of porcelain table lamps in the Chinese taste, by Samson of Paris dating from around 1920. The lamps have beautiful hand painted decoration in famille rose colours of chrysanthemums and prunus and are mounted on gilt metal bases with attractive chinoiserie designs to them. In excellent condition, the urns have no breaks or restoration at all. These come with a pair of new attractive pleated silk shades. The lamps have been rewired to modern standards with braided cables to suit the age and style. They stand 50 cms high overall with shades and are 18 cms in diameter, with the shades being 35 cms in diameter. The bases are in a very decorative bronzed metal with typical Chinese rural and mountain scenes and pierced fretwork detail. They measure 16 cms square.
