Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. FAQs

A pier cabinet is a low display cabinet traditionally manufactured during the Victorian era to fit the narrow wall space between two windows, known as the pier.

These cabinets were typically built using a softwood carcass veneered with figured walnut, embellished with boxwood or fruitwood marquetry inlay and cast gilt-brass mounts.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate construction methods such as hand-cut dovetails, older secondary woods like pine or oak, and natural patination on the veneer and brass hardware.

An antique pier cabinet can be integrated into contemporary spaces as a contrasting textural element, serving as a display case for curated objects or ceramics.

Preserve antique wood by keeping it out of direct sunlight, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax while avoiding silicone-based polishes.
