FAQs

Chinese blue and white porcelain gained global prominence during the Yuan and Ming dynasties, utilising cobalt pigment under a transparent glaze to create intricate botanical and geometric patterns.

These pieces are traditionally crafted from high-fire ceramic porcelain, often fitted with brass electrical components and mounted on wooden or metal bases.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-painted brushwork with natural pigment variations, crazing in the glaze, and period-appropriate wiring or mounting hardware.

Pair the lamp with a simple neutral linen shade to balance the ornate patterned base, placing it on a sideboard or console to introduce height, colour and texture.

Dust the porcelain surface gently with a dry microfibre cloth and avoid using harsh chemical cleaners that could damage the antique glaze or metal fittings.
