Antique Charlotte Rhead Tubelined Vase

1920 - 1940
Description

Charlotte Rhead, daughter of the Frederick Rhead was born in 1885 in North Staffordshire.

Born, living and dying in Burslem, North Staffordshire 1947

Charlotte worked in various potteries after leaving art college.

Her last appointment was to “Richardson “ who traded as Crown Ducal where she brought trade mark tub lining designs and skills although the body and style of works was more gloss than Matt.

Charlotte perfected her skills at waddle and co which was her first industry appointment after college.

Laterly her designs were more organic than geometric and there was more ombré use of colour and glaze tones

This vase has a slight relief jewelled effect to the upper rim

Approx 19cm tall
