Edwardian furniture, produced between 1901 and 1910, frequently draws inspiration from earlier periods such as Sheraton and Chippendale, often featuring lighter proportions, delicate stringing, and marquetry inlay.

Cabinet makers of this era typically used dense hardwoods like rosewood, mahogany, and satinwood, frequently enhanced with boxwood or ebony stringing and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces usually feature period-appropriate mechanical components such as a cast iron spider mechanism beneath the base for smooth rotation, alongside traditional hand-cut joinery and aged timber patination.

This piece functions effectively as a standalone side table or lamp stand in a study or living space, combining functional book storage with decorative display surfaces.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, and apply occasional applications of traditional beeswax to nourish the wood grain.
