Victorian glass encompasses a wide variety of styles, heavily influenced by industrial advancements, ranging from heavily cut lead crystal to delicate frosted and etched finishes popularised during the mid-to-late 19th century.

These items were typically produced using blown or moulded glass, often finished by hand through wheel-cutting, acid-etching, or frosting to create contrasting translucent and opaque textures.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the pontil mark on the base, the weight and clarity of the glass, the presence of minor manufacturing imperfections, and wear patterns consistent with age.

Placed on a dining table or sideboard, it functions effectively as a standalone decorative object or used functionally to hold seasonal fruit, adding reflective texture to modern spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand using tepid water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives and sudden temperature changes to protect delicate surfaces.
