Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Preservation requires gentle cleaning with a specialised non-abrasive silver cloth to remove tarnish while preserving the original patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage intricate engravings.

They can be displayed mounted in small shadow boxes on a gallery wall, arranged on a vintage bar cart, or used in their original context hung around the neck of crystal decanters on a sideboard.

Authenticity is verified by examining hallmarks struck directly onto the metal, which typically include the makers mark, the sterling silver standard mark, the assay office mark, and the date letter corresponding to the active period.

These items are traditionally fashioned from sterling silver using techniques such as stamping, piercing, cast ornamentation, and hand-engraving for the lettering and scrollwork.

Silver wine labels, also known as bottle tickets or decanter labels, emerged in Britain during the mid-18th century to identify different beverages contained in unlabelled decanters, becoming highly ornate during the Victorian era.
