FAQs

Art Deco lighting emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by sleek geometric shapes, stylised motifs, and the integration of modern industrial materials like moulded glass and chrome.

Traditional construction often involved pressed or blown glass, bronze, brass, chrome-plated metals, and elaborate fabric shades frequently trimmed with glass or crystal beads.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-correct wiring methods, maker marks or foundry signatures, age-appropriate patina on metal components, and traditional construction techniques rather than modern assembly.

Place the lamp as a focal point on a sideboard, console, or desk to introduce textural contrast, warm ambient lighting, and historic character into contemporary spaces.

Clean glass components gently with a soft microfibre cloth and mild solution, avoid harsh chemical cleaners on metal finishes, and inspect older electrical wiring periodically for safety.
