FAQs

Art Deco lighting from the 1920s and 1930s is defined by geometric symmetry, clean lines, and streamlined modern forms. Design elements frequently incorporate polished metals, stepped bases, and frosted or opaque glass shades.

Lamps from this period were predominantly crafted using polished chrome, nickel-plated brass, aluminium, and molded or blown opal glass. Fabric-covered cords and bakelite components were also standard electrical fittings of the era.

Authentic pieces display heavy cast or pressed bases, period-appropriate switches, original screw-in glass galleries, and evidence of historical wiring or patina on the metalwork. Modern reproductions often use lighter stamped metals and plastic components.

A globe table lamp functions as an accent piece on a modern sideboard, desk, or bedside table. Its simple geometric form complements both minimalist interiors and eclectic period schemes.

Clean chrome surfaces using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and prevent moisture buildup. The glass globe can be wiped with a damp cloth after being detached from the gallery fixings.
