Sold by: The World is Made of Glass Ltd.

This is a Georgian, English, facet cut stem ale glass dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1770.

The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.

The glass has an extended rounded funnel-shaped bowl measuring 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a diamond-cut facet cut stem and a conical foot which measures 7.3 cm (2.9 inches) in diameter. The glass is 17.5 cm (7 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are a couple of tiny scars to the inside of the bowl which also has a small elongated unburst bubble in it, as does the foot; all dating from manufacture. The glass has a slight lean to it when viewed from one perspective.
