Description

A stunning George III Scottish silver trophy or cup. Made in Edinburgh in 1789 by Patrick Robertson. Robertson was one of Edinburgh's most celebrated silversmiths, he was apprenticed to Edward Lothian in 1743 and was Deacon in 1755 and 1743. This cup is superb quality, very heavy and in amazing condition with no damage or repairs. The crests on the body are for the Murray family of Dollerie in Perthshire and the arms on the base are for Drummond Viscount Strathallan. The hallmarks are crisp and stamped on the base.

WEIGHT; 685 grams or 22 ozst approx.
