This Victorian mahogany stool is a footstool in the French style, dating from circa 1860. The piece stands on warm brown cabriole legs and has a rectangular seat with an upholstered top in patterned red fabric. A decorative braided trim runs along the lower edge of the cushion above a serpentine apron. The wood shows a polished finish on the legs, which curve outward towards slender feet.
