Art Deco design emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by geometric patterns, stylised motifs, clean lines, and a combination of modern metals with coloured glass.

These items generally feature blown or moulded colored glass bodies paired with sterling silver mounts, rims, and lids, often incorporating makers hallmarks.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal components, indicating the makers mark, assay office, standard mark for sterling silver, and a date letter.

It can be displayed on a sideboard, open shelving, or a dining table as a decorative accent that introduces period charm and vibrant colour to a contemporary scheme.

Clean the glass with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive materials. Polish the silver components gently with a specialised silver cloth, keeping moisture away from cemented joints.
