Edwardian jewellery, spanning from roughly 1901 to 1915, is characterised by light, airy designs, platinum settings, and the widespread use of diamonds, pearls, and paste stones inspired by earlier Georgian and Rococo aesthetics.

Craftsmen typically utilised sterling silver, gold, and platinum, often incorporating precious and semi-precious gemstones alongside marcasite or glass paste to achieve intricate, lace-like motifs.

Authentic pieces often feature period-specific hallmarks, hand-cut stones, closed-back settings in earlier styles, and meticulous artisan construction techniques typical of the early 20th century.

An antique pendant can be displayed on a dedicated jewellery bust or stand within a glass-fronted cabinet, or worn against minimalist contemporary clothing to highlight its historical craftsmanship.

Store pieces in a dry, tarnish-resistant lined box away from direct sunlight, and clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage historic stones and delicate metalwork.
