A rummer is a large drinking glass produced in Britain during the late 18th and 19th centuries, commonly used for serving ale, wine, or punch.

These vessels were typically hand-blown from lead glass, featuring wheel-engraved ornamentation and bases formed in moulds to create distinct shapes like the lemon squeezer foot.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, inclusions or tiny air bubbles within the heavy lead metal, and characteristic wear consistent with age.

Displaying such items on open shelving, within a glazed cabinet, or atop a sideboard allows their historic craftsmanship to become a focal point.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing or dishwashers to protect the delicate surface.
