Georgian glassware, produced during the reigns of King George I through IV, is characterised by heavy lead content, deep tonal resonance, and distinctive hand-blown or moulded forms such as thick stems and square lemon squeezer bases.

These pieces were typically crafted using heavy lead glass or flint glass, shaped through free-blowing into moulds to create precise architectural shapes like the characteristic square pedestal feet.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural manufacturing imperfections such as pontil marks on the base, tiny air bubbles trapped within the metal, and expected surface wear or micro-scratches consistent with age.

Antique glass adds a layer of historical texture and transparency when displayed within open shelving cabinets, sideboards, or dining room display units, contrasting effectively against modern minimalist surfaces.

Antique glass should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and harsh scrubbing to protect the historic surface integrity.
