A pair of 18th century delft peacock plates, originating from Holland circa 1775.
The blue and white plates with yellow rims are very decorative and show a central vase of sunflowers in the centre with a fan of peacock feathers behind. Both plates are marked on their backs which is the mark of De porcelyne claeuw factory.
The is some damage to the plates, one having an old break and the other having an old crack going half way through, there is also evidence of old restorations commensurate with age. Although the pair have their damages, this does not deter from their decorative nature and they look fantastic displayed on early dresser racks.
