The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a polished out pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 6 cm. (2.4 inches) in diameter at the rim.
The bowl sits on a diamond facet cut stem, the facets reaching up into the lower part of the bowl where they end as petal flutes. The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6.8 cm. (2.7 inches) in diameter. The glass is 12.6 cm (5 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
It is made from lead metal weighing 170 g. (~ 6 oz.).
