The bases of the candlesticks are beautiful decorated for lowlights.
The branches are detachable with matching detachable drip pans and nozzles.
This very impressive pair candelabra which can be transformed into a pair of single Candlesticks are in superb condition and have been polished and are ready to use.
This is original old Sheffield Plate that is highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
Old Sheffield Plate (OSP) not to be confused with Electro-Plated Nickel Silver or EPNS. Old Sheffield Plate was invented by Thomas Boulsover, of Sheffield''''s Cutlers Company, in 1743. The technique Boulsover developed was to sandwich an ingot of copper between two plates of silver, tightly bind it with wire, heat it in a furnace and then mill it out in to sheet, from which objects could be made.
