This is a ring with a story.
The Opal and diamond part of the ring is very old perhaps as far back as the 15th Century.
It was once a locket and has been placed on to the superb quality Glasgow band. Beautifully hallmarked.
This ring is a little bit different it has an artisan quality about it and is a rare Glasgow piece.
There are a few points about the piece that makes this ring stand out.
The 18ct broad yellow gold shank is decorated with pattern on the outside and has a large easy to read hallmark on the inside of the shank.
The diamonds are quite an unusual cut, leaning towards a rose cut they have a natural uncut unpolished finish. This cut is in line with what you’d expect from this period of history.
The central picture perfect luminous green Opal is of top quality and colour. The smooth gold slightly raised surround which holds the Opal gives a clean cut standout edge highlighting the surrounding diamonds.
These features add to the overall look and quality that exudes from this ring.
I feel that this ring is extra special given it age and quality and of course it’s very unique story.
