An Art Deco guilloche enamel compact is a cosmetic case featuring precision-machined geometric patterns beneath a translucent layer of coloured enamel, characteristic of the 1920s and 1930s design movement.

These pieces are typically constructed from sterling silver or nickel silver, paired with vitreous glass enamel applied over an engine-turned metal base, often housing an internal mirror and powder sifter.

Authentic pieces generally bear British hallmark stamps indicating the assay office, metal purity, and date letter, alongside maker marks, while exhibiting hand-applied enamel work rather than modern synthetic resins.

Display the item on a dressing table tray or glass-topped jewellery dish alongside other collectable vanity accessories to add a touch of period colour and metallic texture to the space.

Preserve enamel by keeping it away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, avoiding abrasive cleaning agents, and gently wiping the surface with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
