Small Period Oak Six Plank Coffer

A small proportioned James II oak six plank oak coffer with carved lunette design to the front, in superb original condition c.1680. Six plank oak boarded construction with full length panels and the sides, a V cut to the base forming the foot. Hinged lid with lined and moulded edges sat over a carved front with two large carved lunettes; original iron lock plate to the top. Opens to reveal a clean interior with period hinges. Superb mellow colour and rich polish, presented in excellent condition with a deep shine. Keep up to date via Instagram - sturmansantiques. Measures 27.5'' long x 11.5'' deep x 19'' high.
