We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian cut glass is characterised by deep, geometric or floral hand-cut patterns, heavy lead content for enhanced refraction, and sturdy proportions typical of 19th-century manufacturing.

These pieces are typically fashioned from heavy flint glass or lead crystal, shaped via mould-blowing or free-blowing, and finished with wheel-cut detailing and hand-polished facets.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor surface wear, slight asymmetries from hand-crafting, pontil marks on the base, and a distinct bell-like resonance when gently tapped, unlike uniform modern machine-pressed glass.

Pairing vintage cut glass with modern minimalist tableware creates a striking juxtaposition, or display them openly on a bar cart or open shelving to catch natural light.

Antique crystal should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and harsh dishwashers to prevent thermal shock and clouding.
