An Early 20th Century Original Antique Kashmiri Lamp, 75cm tall Hand Painted.
A superbly stylish, early example of a Kashmiri hand painted, tribal theme decoration lamp, a tall papier mache twisted column lamp measuring 75cm tall.
This is an excellent early 20th century, circa 1920s lamp and not a later 1950/60s tourist copy, presented in an elegant ochre ground paint with a traditional applied, coloured Kashmiri tribal decoration.
The main body of the lamp is structurally excellent with some minor evidence of some timeworn wear, which authenticates character, the lamp requires re-wire and perhaps a new bulb housing, currently fitted with a continental plug.
The rewire is a simple process, available as it is to buy in its current state. We may decide to withdraw listing and consign to our workshop for rewiring and relist at a revised price, until then it is available.
