A beautiful German Hanau solid sterling silver tea caddy box. It is hallmarked with German Hanau marks and English import marks for London 1896 with the importer being William Moering. It has been superbly made being embossed with various scenes. Unusually it has a sliding panel to its base for access to clean rather like those of 150 years previous. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 4 inches (10.2cm) tall by 2.75 inches (7cm) across by almost 2 inches (4.9cm) wide and weighs 168 grams.
